ITALY AT COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: SAN DIEGO

Comic-Con is an annual convention that has taken place in San-Diego for the last 40 years considered a focal point for the word of comics and now film, television, and science fiction/fantasy literature. What began as a one-day "mini-con" with a total of 100 attendees has grown into the premier comic book and popular arts style convention in the world with a whopping 130,000 attendees. The event continues to offer the complete convention experience including panels, workshops, academic programming, film screenings, games, art show, and costume competitions. The biggest feature of this event are the special guests that range from comics creators, science fiction and fantasy authors, film and television directors, producers, and writers.

This year, the Italian Trade Agency, took part in the Comic-Con festivities with it's inaugural participation at the show. At booth #5525 visitors were able to view and learn more about the seven Italian illustrators, comic artists, and publishing houses wanting to promote their work to the U.S. market. The participants included: Kotopopi, Coconino Press, Fabrizio Capigatti, Leonardo Lotti, Luigi Merati, Tunué, and VeneziaComix.
